Together We Make a Profound Difference
As I sat down to write this month’s message many thoughts went through my mind. I thought of our Brethren which truly makes our Lodge the great institution it is. I was also reminded of one of the basic tenets of Masonry, Brotherly Love. On this principal Masonry unites men of every country, sect and opinion; and causes true friendship to exist among those who might otherwise have remained at a perpetual distance. I am proud to say that the Brethren of Southern California Lodge certainly live up to that tenet. Whatever is needed to be done here at the Lodge, our Brothers are ready to help. Be it at the Stated Meeting, a Degree or other event, there is always one Brother extending a helping hand to another. March has been designated as the Masonic Youth Orders Month. To commemorate the Youth Orders, Brother Jerome Esteban has put in a lot of time and effort to contact a DeMolay Chapter to put on a DeMolay Degree in our lodge on Thursday, March 26, at 7:00 PM. Many of our members, many of our Past Masters, (as well as your current Master) were members of the order. If you have never seen these young men put on a Degree it is well worth your time to view it as well as it is to support these fine gentlemen. I also welcome our newest Brother, Allan Fitzgerald, to our fraternity and our Lodge. I know he will progress and will soon be raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason. I also want to thank Bros. Sean Yu, J.D. and Kalani Jensen, S.W., for the excellent job they did in hosting the Lodge’s Super Bowl Party. Due to their hard work the event was certainly a success for all those in attendance. However, even with their hard work, I do not think even they planned the surprise ending of the game. Thank you very much. I also want to thank Bro. Jack DeMerit, who again, organized our annual Sweetheart’s event. This year we traveled to the Candlelight Pavilion in Claremont to have lunch and we were treated to an excellent performance of the Buddy Holly Story. All who attended had a very enjoyable time.
Thank you so much.
